Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Collaborating with clients to create a strategy that is designed to have a positive impact on their organisation’s key performance indicators.
- Conducting thorough audits in order to identify issues impacting a website’s performance and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Undertaking in-depth keyword research, keyword selection and keyword mapping.
- Experience in building inbound organic search traffic and improving SERPs
- Analysing SERPs to understand intent, how search results appear and what opportunities there are to enhance the client’s search profile.
- Ensuring pages are optimised to target the identified keywords and theme
- Creating compelling content for use on client websites or external websites.
- Identifying suitable websites that may promote a client’s content and pitching opportunities to them.
- Conducting link audits to identify potential weaknesses and opportunities and to gain an understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Building strong relationships with clients where you are their key point of communication.
- Creating reports that provide clients with meaningful insights that are clearly explained in terms that relate to their organisation’s KPIs.
- The ability to deploy an effective local and long-tail search strategy
- A deep understanding of mobile strategy and how it relates to SEO
- A background in creating reports showing web analytics data and site evaluations
- An up-to-date, working knowledge of current, past, and projected trends in the SEO industry
Skills & Competence Required
- A genuine interest in SEO and/or digital marketing
- A good understanding of search engines
- An inquisitive mind which drives you to understand Google’s algorithms and predict what changes might be coming
- Evidence of a strong personal online profile, e.g. a blog, website or connections and interactions on various social media platforms
- A commitment to keeping your technical skills and knowledge up to date
- An ability to understand social media platforms and how to use them to distribute content, gain more links and build successful campaigns
- An understanding of how customers search, where they search and why they purchase something online
- A good understanding of the wider marketing context
- Strong analytical skills for understanding ranking algorithms
- Excellent communication skills to educate, inform, manipulate and mediate across a number of stakeholders in an organisation
- An understanding of, or experience of, HTML coding, and preferably Javascript and PHP
- Some experience and knowledge of web hosting.
- Diploma / BSc degree in Marketing or relevant field
Bonus skills / Nice to have
- Hands on experience with markup languages
- Project management skills
- Proficient understanding of E-commerce platforms (WooCommerce, Magento, Shopify, etc.)
- Supplementary skills: PHP, UX, IA, CRO, SEM, Content Strategy, Social Media
